Elizabeth King (artist)

Elizabeth King (born 1950) is an American sculptor and writer living in Richmond Virginia. Her work is represented by Danese/Corey Gallery in New York. Awards include a 2014 Anonymous Was a Woman Award, a 2006 Academy Award in Art from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a 2002 Guggenheim Fellowship, and a 1996 Fellowship in the Visual Arts at the Mary Ingraham Bunting Institute, now the Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study at Harvard University. Her book, Attention's Loop (A Sculptor's Reverie on the Coexistence of Substance and Spirit), with photographs by Katherine Wetzel, was published by Harry Abrams in 1999.〔 She is a Professor Emerita at Virginia Commonwealth University where she taught from 1985 to 2015 in the (Department of Sculpture and Extended Media ).
